An Ode To Photography.

With camera in hand, I set out to see,

The world through a lens, in simplicity.

But layers and layers, I began to add,

In pursuit of perfection, things turned quite mad.

Filters and angles, edits untamed,

My vision, once clear, now heavily framed.

The rawness I cherished, lost in the whirl,

As complications my once simple world did unfurl.

I yearn to return, to that innocent grace,

Were photography’s essence, I could embrace.

To focus on raw, the unvarnished truth,

Capture the moments, in age and in youth.

So, with renewed purpose, I cast off the chains,

Of over-complication, and undue strains.

With lens focused keenly on what's pure and what's real,

I’ll recapture simplicity’s long-lost appeal.

In the fast-paced world of photography, it's easy to get caught up in the technical aspects, the equipment, and the pursuit of perfection. As photographers, we often find ourselves engrossed in the complexities of lighting, composition, and production. However, amidst this whirlwind of technicalities, I recently found myself yearning for something more. I longed to reconnect with the essence of photography, to capture raw emotions and create lasting memories. In this blog post, I will share my personal journey of rediscovering the true heart of photography.

Over the past three years, my focus in photography had been predominantly on the technical side. I dedicated countless hours to mastering the art of lighting, acquiring more equipment, and gaining control over every intricate detail of my shoots. I became engrossed in the world of setups, grips, and manipulating lights and shadows. While this journey was undoubtedly enriching, it led me to a realization – I had lost touch with the core of photography, the essence that evokes emotions and preserves memories.

Amidst my longing for a deeper connection with my craft, I found solace in the power of words. In an attempt to express my yearning, I penned a heartfelt poem that encapsulated my desire to return to the simplicity and soul of photography. Through this poem, I sought to articulate the beauty of capturing "simple" emotions and preserving moments.
